Water Efficiency Rebate Program

The city of Brooklyn Park is making it easier for residents to save on their water bills with a Water Efficiency Rebate Program.

Irrigation controllers, sprinkler bodies, washing machines, dishwashers, and toilets

Replace your existing units with water efficient ones and save. Starting July 1, 2024, purchase and install a WaterSense certified toilet and get $50 back (up to two toilets). Get $100 back on a WaterSense certified irrigation system controller and $5 for each sprinkler body replacement. An Energy Star certified washing machine or dishwasher qualifies for a $50 rebate.

Get your money back!

Irrigation systems, toilets, dishwashers, and clothes washers are the biggest water users in most homes – but they don’t necessarily use water wisely.

How do I participate?

Homeowners or residents of Brooklyn Park need to buy after July 1, 2024 and install one or more new appliances that have an Energy Star or WaterSense certification. Appliances must replace an existing unit – new installations do not qualify.

You can choose from the list below:

Once your new appliances are installed:

  1. Fill out the Water Efficiency Rebate application form (or pick one up at City Hall)
  2. Include the receipt and other papers (this should show the model, the date of purchase and an Energy Star or WaterSense label)
  3. Email the completed paperwork to BPOM@BrooklynPark.org
    OR
Mail your rebate form to: Water Efficiency Rebate, City of Brooklyn Park, 5200 85th Ave. N., Brooklyn Park, MN 55443

Who can participate?

Any Brooklyn Park resident who owns a single-family home, townhome, or duplex can apply! Even homeowners associations or owners who rent their homes can take part.

Please call or email Tim Pratt with any questions!

Efficient Water Softener Program

A collection of water softeners.

The City of Brooklyn Park wants to help you improve the quality of water in your home and help the environment at the same time!

How do they work?

Water softeners need to regenerate to continue softening water. Unfortunately, it can also be inefficient and wasteful. If your unit is regenerating too often, you are likely wasting salt and energy.

The efficient water softener rebate program gives you $100 back when you purchase and install a demand initiated water softener in your home. This type of water softener monitors your water usage and only regenerates when necessary, minimizing your water and salt usage. This adds up to money savings for you!

How do I participate?

Residents of Brooklyn Park need to buy and install a demand-initiated water softener. Only appliances bought on or after January 1, 2020, are eligible for rebates. Once your new appliances are installed:

  1. Fill out the Efficient Water Softener Rebate application form (or pick one up at City Hall)
  2. Include the receipt and other papers (this should show the model and the date of purchase)
  3. Email the completed paperwork to BPOM@BrooklynPark.org
    OR
Mail your rebate form to: Water Efficiency Rebate, City of Brooklyn Park, 5200 85th Ave. N., Brooklyn Park, MN 55443

Limited to one rebate per address.

Who can participate?

Any Brooklyn Park resident who owns a single-family home, townhome, or duplex can apply! Even homeowners associations or owners who rent their homes can take part.
